Foundations
MNB was founded in Frankfurt in 1999 by Manuel Nick to advise institutional capital on the emerging field of alternative investments. Through the early 2000s, the firm built the foundation of its investment philosophy and network in the context of a nascent but fast-evolving asset class.
Building Conviction
As private markets matured into an established institutional asset class, MNB deepened its presence across the DACH community of investors and funds. In its early years, the team was active in private equity and private debt placement, building the manager relationships and the disciplined processes that define the firm today.
Growth & Investment Advisory
Since 2017, MNB has substantially expanded its mandate work, advising European institutional investors on alternative investment programmes that span multiple cycles. The firm remains committed to a personal approach: independent investment judgement, delivered through long-term partnerships.
A New Chapter
In 2025, MNB entered a new chapter under the leadership of David Bernatowicz as CEO. Manuel's investment convictions and entrepreneurial ethos remain the firm's foundation. The work continues, guided by the same principles that have defined MNB for a quarter-century.
