David Bernatowicz
Biography
David Bernatowicz leads MNB across all asset classes and strategies. Mr Bernatowicz brings over a decade of private markets experience, having originated, negotiated, and executed more than $2.0 billion of direct investments across Europe, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. He was appointed CEO in 2025, succeeding founder Manuel Nick, following the growth of the collaboration with Hackworth Capital, initiated in 2023.
Career
Prior to joining MNB, David founded Hackworth Capital Partners, supporting European corporates seeking bespoke financing solutions across direct lending, specialty finance, and real estate lending.
He previously served at Arena Investors, a $5bn global multi-strategy credit platform, as a member of the firm's European team — investing across corporate, real estate, and specialty finance opportunities and supporting the build-out of the European business.
Before Arena, David was at RoundShield Partners, a London-based investment firm focused on European special opportunities, where he originated and executed transactions in real estate, infrastructure, hard assets, and financial assets, and contributed to the launch of the firm's Specialty Finance strategy.
He began his career at Macquarie Principal Finance, joining the team in 2015 and working on large-cap direct lending transactions across the capital structure with a focus on corporate credit, special situations, and structured lending.
